Mineral Fork
Finally, a hike that reminded me how much I love the Wasatch in the summertime! Ninety-five degrees in the valley, and minutes later, you're cooling down to the upper 60s next to two waterfalls (1 and 2) in the outlet of a glacier-formed side canyon! The trail is very pleasant after the switchbacks. Wildflowers included clematis, larkspur, wallflowers and woodland star. Shortly after the stream crossing, the route opens up allowing you to see the spectacular, "hanging" canyon. The snow was so close you could almost touch it! Near our stopping point, we came upon a couple of motorized trail users. When one coyly commented about our inferior method of transport, I couldn't help but respond with, "No gasoline required!". Rest of photos are here.
